I am deeply committed to making our profession a genuinely inclusive place for philosophers of all backgrounds, and to making philosophical engagement available to non-academic audience of all ages. This page features some of the work that I have done in service of these commitments; for more of my work, please see my CV.
From 2024-2026, I will serve as Co-Director (with J.C. Ward [2024-2025] and Roy Chamarro [2025-2026]), of Minorities and Philosophy International (MAP). MAP's aim is to address structural injustices in academic philosophy and to remove barriers that impede participation in academic philosophy for members of marginalized groups. As Co-Director, I am responsible for coordinating our 180+ MAP chapters around the world. You can read more about what we do here.
From 2024-2025, I served as the UNC Philosophy Department's Teaching Assistant Coordinator. My role was to organize and conduct two teaching workshops for first-time Teaching Assistants, observe Teaching Assistant recitations and provide feedback, and serve as a liaison between Teaching Assistants and Departmental Leadership.
I regularly do public philosophy talks at Carolina Meadows, a local retirement community. Most recently, I have talked to residents there about standpoint epistemology and about the political importance of emotions.
I am fortunate to be a graduate fellow with the Parr Center for Ethics, which puts on the National High School Ethics Bowl. I regularly write ethics bowl cases and serve as a judge.
